Galileo - Year 5
This week we were fortunate enough to have an engineer from Cambridge university to work with Years 4, 5 and 6 as part of a world record attempt! We are one of 40 schools that have been selected to take part in a fantastic stem project, where 88 pianists are attempting to play a piece of music from one piano! Children will be designing mechanisms to allow them to reach a piano and play a particular note alongside 87 other people. This week they had the opportunity to explore a range of tools and materials to make a mechanism and they are in the process of designing their ideas for the main event next summer.
